Although it never reached superstar status, Screaming Trees is well known to followers of Seattles grunge rock movement. Grunge is a hybrid of punk, metal, and alternative rock, and its association with indie rock indicates that a certain underground association is important. The level of technical prowess was not as important as the presentation of the music and who knew about the group. Grunge rockers liked being associated with the musical underground, but the groups also loved fame if it came their way. Screaming Trees had a solid and powerful sound nevertheless. This cut, from the 1992 album Sweet Oblivion (the last album released before the group broke up), brought Screaming Trees its greatest exposure. This song appeared on the soundtrack to the film Singles (1992), which admittedly was not an underground activity.
